Material Handler for the Swedish Armed Forces

About the Unit

The Uppland and Västmanland Group (UVG) trains and administers the Home Guard and national protection forces, as well as supports volunteer organizations within Uppland and Västmanland counties. The Home Guard units supported by UVG are the 21st and 22nd Home Guard Battalions, the 214th Hvund Company, as well as the 215th and 224th Home Guard Music Corps. UVG is part of the Central Military Region (MR M).

Main Responsibilities

As a material handler, you will have knowledge of the Swedish Armed Forces' material within your area of responsibility and manage material and supply.

Examples of tasks:

Physically manage the material within the framework of storage and transport services.
Conduct practical storage services and transport of material.
Work closely with the material officer to prepare material for storage and/or transport.
Assist units with: Training and execution of basic inspections (GT).
Be part of the command and support group during unit exercises.
Perform other tasks as required by the unit.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

Education at least at the high school level
B and C driver's license
Military Driving License (car, tracked vehicle, truck, heavy trailer, off-road vehicle)
Forklift certificate
Previous experience with the Swedish Armed Forces' material
Knowledge of storage services
Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish

Personal Qualities

We are looking for someone who is solution-oriented, responsible, and has a good ability to switch between detail and overall perspective. You should be used to working independently as well as in a team. The role of Material Handler involves a lot of collaboration with different units and people, so we value that you are communicative. You need to be structured, meticulous, and able to plan and prioritize your work effectively, even in situations with many tasks or when conditions change.

Great importance will be placed on personal suitability.

MERITORIOUS

Experience with the Swedish Armed Forces or volunteer organizations
Experience working with material digital tracking systems (Prio and LIFT)
BVKF and ADR certificates

Other

Employment type: Permanent employment. The Swedish Armed Forces applies a six-month probationary period for those who are not employed by the authority. Employment rate: Full-time. Work location: Enköping/Uppsala (the position involves periods of absence from the workplace). Start date: By agreement. Salary: Individual salary setting. The position may involve travel (mainly within Sweden), recurring readiness, and participation in exercises.

Upon employment, you will receive combat training and be assigned to the position and cannot be combined with another assignment.
